My mother Gwen Elizabeth (Wendy) was the third daughter of Frank Evans and Rhoda Eliza Ashton and was born in 1919 in Kuala Lumpur in the State of Selangor in the Malay States, she died in December 2013 and her ashes are buried with my father's, Hugh Hinton, at Sevenoaks Cemetary.

Her father’s Evans family came from Much Wenlock in Shropshire where her great grandfather Thomas Evans was the local blacksmith.
